All the dogs at this event have had a very tough start in life. They’re here because no one wanted them and, sadly, some are here because they were abused or neglected. For that reason adopters are screened carefully to make sure the dog will go to a great home and a loving family.
While you may find the adoption
screening intrusive, please understand that it is only because we care for dogs as much as you do.

Interview/Screening Process
Please fill out our online application BEFORE you come to the weekend event. Also bring a recommendation from your vet’s office on their letterhead if you’re thinking of bringing home a dog during the weekend event.

Home Visit
Even though we do not set policies for the rescues at DOG DAYS, we do require that they conduct a home visit. This may be scheduled either before or after you take your dog but you must agree to allow someone to visit your property.
Final Approval & Cost
Once the rescue has approved your application and is satisfied with your home visit your adoption is complete. Fees for adoption are established by each rescue but will average between $100 and $385. Congratulations! You are now the most important part of rescue work!
Note: All dogs at DOG DAYS are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
