About Dog Days This “About Us” page is really “about you”. We’re a community of like minded people who are frustrated over how many loving, adoptable dogs are put to sleep every year. We come together to coordinate an adoption event and in the process learn some fundamental points about shelters, rescues, how to foster and other ways to help save shelter pets. Some key points about our non-profit: Our programs include adoption events, financial assistance, rescue & education. We don’t benefit or profit from adoption fees charged by the rescues at our events. We are a 100% volunteer organization. We donate money and supplies to the small rescues who regularly pull from kill shelters. Dog Days Adoption Events, Inc. will support small rescues and pounds by providing event space and publicity for an adoption event and we support adopters by providing the resources, information and support for making a smart adoption choice. Dog Days Adoption Events, Inc. was started in October of 2010 in Essex, CT. We are a federally approved non-profit 501(c)3 charity registered with the state of Connecticut.
